The government is looking at further easing foreign direct investment (FDI) norms in the space sector to attract overseas players, a top official said on Monday. Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) Rajesh Kumar Singh said that huge scope is there for Saudi Arabian companies to invest in India in different sectors such as aviation, pharma, bulk drugs, renewable energy, food processing and agrti-tech.

Loan defaulters and those facing probe need NOC to invest abroad

The finance ministry on Tuesday made it tougher for loan defaulters and those facing probe by investigative agencies to invest in overseas entities. They will now have to secure a no-objection certificate (NOC) from their lenders, or the regulators or probe agencies concerned before making overseas investments, according to the new norms notified by the department of economic affairs (DEA).
